A fiber collimator is a pre-aligned optical component that collimates divergent light beams transmitted through optical fibers into parallel beams (or couples parallel beams into optical fibers).

(1) Fiber Collimation Conditions: Designed for single-mode fiber patch cords. Performance will degrade if used with multi-mode fibers. Always use the specified wavelength and matching patch cords; otherwise collimation performance will deteriorate.(2) Note: Perfect collimation cannot be achieved with multi-mode or large-core fibers.

Technical Description

(1) This pre-aligned fiber collimator converts divergent beams from optical fibers into parallel beams (or couples parallel beams into fibers). With a compact Ø12 mm profile, it integrates easily into existing setups, corrects beam divergence, reduces optical power loss in fiber connections and beam handling, and improves overall system optical performance.

(2) For installation, a collimator mounting adapter is recommended. It features an internal M11×0.5 mm thread compatible with this series and an external SM1 (1.035-40) thread for direct integration into 30 mm cage systems.

(3) It can also be mounted on optical adjustment mounts using POL series fixed mounting holes or OAD series collimation mounting holes.
